In the news: Narcolepsy = autoimmune
DebbieD- I thought of you when I read today's Jane Brody column in the NYTs Science section. Find it here:
http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/0...y/?ref=science It says that "the underpinnings" of narcolepsy are autoimmune w 70,000 brain cells that should regulate hypocretin dying. Hypocretin regulates sleep. So, if you have one autoimmune disease..... Worth checking into. ANN |
Huh...really interesting, esp about restlessness...that's me to a T during the night...
thanks for sharing. I'll keep it in mind... |
Narcolepsy has been linked recently to the Glaxo squalene version of H1N1 vaccine:

Wow is that why I cant seem to get enough sleep and yawn constantly?

I usually only see the first minute or so of a dvd I watch in bed, then I am out whether I want to be or not. I have fallen asleep at the kitchen table, and in my computer chair.
It was the main reason I stopped working when I did as a truck driver, I couldn`t stay awake. It`s odd though, I made a 22 hour drive to Florida with only a couple of brief stops for naps. A 12 hour drive to Rhode Island with none. It did seem like I paid for both for a few weeks afterwards though, just a general feeling of not being well. |
