REM sleep disorder & Brain injury

I am looking for any information that may be out there for people that have suffered TBI- frontal lobe( perm long term memory loss, affected speech, still suffer from headaches) and I have REM sleep disorder along with the TBI interrupted sleep cycles. I have seen different sleep specialists with little luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I have been told that my case is just to complicated to treat- I am desperate.

thank you,

mem loss

You may have more luck posting this in the PCS (post concussion) and TBI thread...

my REM sleep is a disaster. I feel like I am awake to all my dreams and then I wake up terrified with my body trembling inside like internal tremors. My body doesn't move yet but it is terrifying. I am seeing a neurologist about it next week. Have you learned anything

Hello memoryloss,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups.

As EsthersDoll suggested, you could try posting over on the TBI/PCS Forum.

There is also a Sleep Disorders Forum

Welcome! I am battling the same issue, with little success. I suppose you've already run the gamut of sleeping pills. If you haven't, some TBI patients have good results from Remeron.

My brain injury was quite serious and my neurologist told me that he thinks it's to damaged for me to achieve REM sleep. Apparently, this happens to a considerable number of stroke patients, too.

I think I have something wrong with my rem that causes pains from my head to my spine and shoulders to go on fire
