New drug reverses MS progression in mice - rebuilds myelin

I just stumbled across this today. A new drug has been tested on mice at UC Riverside and New York's Rockefeller University.

It appears to reverse damage by reducing inflammation and rebuilding myelin. They suggest clinical trials will start soon. But that's another 10 years before it makes it on the market, right? (if all goes well)

By the way, how did they figure out how to give MS to mice? Isn't it called EAE? Are we that similar to mice?

Well they're helping to get a cure for our MS, so.... I'm grateful for that. However 10 years will be too late for me.
