28 Nov 2009 - Weekend Checkin !!! Yoohoo...
It is technically Saturday in my part of the planet.
But it has been almost dead here all day Friday... Are most of you out doing the Black Friday sales? I heard from a friend whose spouse shopped in the middle of the night and found a line of people wrapped around megastore because it was already packed to capacity... they were having to let people in bit by bit as others came out!!! I can't imagine going shopping in that. Sale or no sale!!! I finished my project. i'm relieved. Next week i get to chase down some certification for candidacy to a free class... and start Christmas shopping. Already public transits are packed at all hours it's nuts out there. not looking forward to breathing so much "shared" entrapped air with these flus around... What's up with everyone else? ~ waves ~ |
I am reading the twilight book, anyone reading those books? we saw both the movies and really enjoyed them.
saw a terrible movie tonight called expired...don't get it! had a nice visti with our friends and drove back home today, easy driving. pretty sunny day. cold last night 37 and we had a pit fire outslide and froze finally wnet inside and started a fire in their fireplace. I know that a large portion of the states experience much colder weather than us and lots of snow, have no business complaining.really so I will stop. bizi |
Happy Weekend
Dear Beth and Waves,
No store shopping here. That's why we have the Internet! ;) I limit my time in stores between Thanksgiving and New Year's. It is cold here too for us. But it will start warming up again by the end of the weekend. Change can cause me anxiety it seems, so even a weather change bothers me. Perhaps I feel a physical change along with the psychological. Glad that you are liking the Twilight books, Beth. I have not seen them. I stayed in today (Friday) and plan to stay in the whole weekend. I have work to do for work. Also feel kind of down. 'Maybe I'll make a quick run to the grocery store so that hubby can cook a big pot of something so we will have it in the 'fridge for the first part of the week. M. |
I have been on the web sites buying for grandson and Katie, I also had some Amazon purchases. I use a few sites called slickdeals.net, cheapcheapcheap.com. From there I found the items for grandson. Qvc had the point and shoot camera for Katie with 3 payments. I found Yankee Candle had BOGO with $5 shipping for some DIL gift, and one for me.
Husband took me to Staples for media storage. I needed an external storage, flash drives, and SD cards for the camera's. I stopped in Walmart for frames, but the line also was wrapped around the store.LOL, I ran into my son there too. We went up to Lowes and got some supplies 60% off. At Lowes I found a Little Helper carpenter set for my grandson. Stopped by Kmart. I wanted one of the small branch trees with clear lights on it for the yard. Tried to find an Angel, I just could not find anything, Soooo sore I can barely move. Tomorrow if the wind dies down we will hang some display lights. Inside, I have things sorted to get rid of, and storage boxes to fill. Lots more to do though. Today the son is taking us to Steam Town train Holiday display and lights at the Scranton Park that you drive through. Better get some more zzzzz's. Have a good one, di:grouphug: |
Wow!!!!!
you were very productive. congratulations...I bet you are sore today. that sounded like a lot of activity! sunny day today, chilly but nice to see the sun. hope everyone who follows will beable to enjoy their weekend. and if you are working retail , I am hoping that your work goes smoothly and that you don't run into any grouchy shoppers! Mari, I just saw your post in the vegan recipe thread. I think taking some time off is a good idea. maybe you could combine it with your christmas break to really have some down time to rest and recuperate. What does hubby think about that? bizi |
Cvs
Hi,
I bought groceries tonight. And then when I came home I did a little work on the computer. I'm learning which stores in my neighborhood are better than others. For example, there are two CVS's. One is 24 hours, small, and has horrible customers. The other one is bigger and closer but not 24 hours. I need to learn the best times to go to the stores too. They feel different from my old neighborhood in terms of the pace. This is my life: finding out months after a move which stores I can tolerate and which stores can upset me. Probably the workers will get to know me as a regular and cut me slack when I act out of it -- like the workers did in the other neighborhood. M. |
I'm here. I hope that everyone has a good day. BF:hug::hug::hug:
