Do I Get Cake Or What?

Today is my one year anniversary of my fall. Not sure if its a day to be forgotten or celebrated. On one hand, its changed my life and not necessarily for the best. On the other hand, I'm alive. Proof that helmets do save lives.

In reality, today will be just a day like most others. A chiropractic appointment and a nap.

I have seen some improvements in this year, but they've been slow to happen and progress is frustrating. But if I look not day to day or week to week, but over the longer term, there IS progress, so that I hold onto.

I don't expect things will ever "be the same" or "go back to how they were" but in reality, even without profound accidents, things always change and evolve and nothing is ever the same, so maybe this is not that different. I'm not convinced, I'm still wrestling with it.

Anyhow, just my thoughts on my anniversary. Be well and keep doing the things that are good for you and eventually over the long haul, maybe you too will notice little tidbits of progress.

I say Yay helmets! or I wouldn't be here either! I would make you a sugar free, gluton free, all natural whole foods cake if you wanted it! (but believe me you probably wouldn't want it ;) ) A normal cake would just cause inflammation and you don't want any more of that.

Congratulations on making it to one year strong and with a good outlook! Hopefully once all the stress in your life settles back to normal stress you will start to see more progress when you look back a couple months. You definitely cannot look back weeks or days but I'm sure you are seeing a big difference if you look back say 6 months or more.

I hope you have a good day!

I also say 'yay for helmets!' or I wouldn't be here either!
Great to have progress. There is more to come. I felt very solemn on my one year anniversary...felt the need to mark it somehow. So good for you for posting!
I am now six months past that one year anniversary, and have seen a steady improvement in most areas. So keep on keeping on!
Keep hopeful.
