Deactivated my Facebook Account

Crying

Somehow I stumbled into a disturbing FB image tonight.

----
The image was related to
~sleep
~something specific about my particular way to fall asleep.

This is the message I left
Quote:

'Deactivating my account for the moment. Reach me by text or email or FB Messenger . . .. or homing pigeon -- whichever works best. All is well. Namaste
I private messaged my cell phone number to one brother's daughter
and to the other brother's d-in-law before I de-activated
AND I sent email to Work Buddy because we do something together on FB for work.
====
At some later time, I will "re-activate" or close account complete.

Or maybe leave it the way it is now (de-activated) for ever.

Mari, I hope that deactivating your FB account works for you.

This is not about me but I am a member of two "closed" (invitation-only) FB groups but nothing else. One of them is for the moderators and administrators of another world-wide health board and the other is for my extended family - both, in different ways, give us a chance to talk in private.

Maybe setting up a closed FB group might work for you?

That is a good idea. Thanks.:)
When I can handle it, I will look into that.
I am mostly on FB for my two brothers (because they do not call)
and a few cousins.

Also for a little work stuff but I can do that in closed group too I suppose.
Or find a way to drop it.

I'm sorry that whatever you came across was so upsetting, and I hope that the break from Facebook works out for you :hug::hug:

I hope that you feel better about what happened soon, Mari :hug::hug:

Kay,

I really believe I am going to give up on sleep.
It has been a torture.

Now it is impossible.

I know sleep is a constant battle for you. I can't imagine what you go through just trying to get a few hours in :hug::hug:

We need that sleep so that our body can recharge… I have no idea how you've been able to function on the little sleep you manage to get :hug::hug:

I know that you have been desperately frustrated with your sleep problems for a long time, and whatever you came across on FB has upset you further, but please don't give up :hug::hug:

Did you get anywhere with the woman who makes the weighted sleep blankets? Wasn't there another kind of blanket you put up a link to as well?

I know that you don't regularly use sleep meds…

Please try your best to block out whatever you found on FB. Decide to treat it as fiction if that's at all possible :hug::hug:

It actually was fiction mostly -- I checked SNOPES.
But part of the picture was true -- I checked SNOPES

The blanket person emailed me asking how much "weight" I wanted in the blanket. I have no idea. I think "a lot" would be good but since I do not know
anything about this I sent an email saying this: "Whatever you think is best. It is for an adult."

Two days later I got word that it "Shipped"

I can look forward to that.

I don't like facebook anymore. I get on facebook to see how my brother in law, and nieces are doing. That's about it.

I can't stand the hateful political, and other explicit opinions people have in the way they are written. I can't hardly stomach the news anymore, especially if they are trying to brainwash me, or try to make me think in a certain way, or try to make me react in a certain way.

I've noticed that the commercials are creating more fear than ever before, especially the commercials during the Andy Griffith show. I'm having to mute the TV much more during the commercials than I have before. I especially hate the side affects that are stated in the commercials when they are talking about drug information. It's all so negative. BF:hug::hug::hug:

BF,

I agree with you about television. It is not our friend.

(I record shows so I have not seen commercials in years.
And I have to be careful what shows I watch.)

And I basically do not watch the news -- get a few things from google news and Slate.com.

I connected with members of a potential new team (We have new insurance at work):

1. psychiatrist
2. psychologist

They called me back two or three times and somehow I missed them.

I hope things work out on Friday because having these set up before the weekend will be good.
