I am back from vacation now.

Just a note to say I am finally back, and have my speedy nice computer too! (I was forced to use 2 laptops-- one that belongs to the govt that is issued to hubby. That one was using 2G because the 3G is not active on the tower by us. It was slower than slow, and would not load graphics. Many encrypted pop ups, and basically it was barely working. Dropped me alot too.)

The Dell laptop's battery died, so I had to use it at the laundromat by electrical outlet, but its wifi did work. It was noisey and uncomfortable there, so I didn't last long online with it either!

So anyway I will be catching up this week. ;)

Nice to have you back here--

--sorry about the un-summery weather up there. :o

Thanks... I had 4 books in a huge SAGA to read and occupy me.
George R.R. Martin! The Song of Fire and Ice. Over 4000pgs so far, and now waiting for the 5th book!

Even my petunias rotted! Too wet and too cold! sigh.

I have a small number of pics up in my album on my profile.
I'll have to download the card from my camera into this computer this week. Not many opportunities for pics presented themselves, but I do have a few nice ones.

My son took the sunset I have on my signature now, and managed to find some beauty that I missed (I went to bed early that night). All I ever saw was gray overcast clouds!

I for one truly missed your....

calm and sage advice!
I just wish that YOUR weather had been kinder to you this year. Funny thing tho - there have been times when I have found comfort and beauty in all the 'different' shades of grey skies. Tho I don't tolerate cold or damp too well at all.
WELCOME BACK! You were missed for sure!
ONwards or something? - j

Thanks for the comments.

What makes the cold/damp really hard, is that our summer place is spartan. NO electricity (save a small generator which we used more this year for the vacuum and computers and recharging of batteries) NO running water and an outhouse (this is cold at 3am). Our larger propane frig would not get cold enough to store food safely either. So we were forced to use the little 1/2 size trailer one we have in the house!

So cold up there means STRESS... coping, long underwear, etc.
More laundry...which means driving MILES to do. We spent $30 just at the laundromat this year!

I had one PN flare that lasted about 4 days, too. And a severe spasm in my good leg...in the thigh.. which lasted almost a week and was very painful. I found it was a calcium deficiency thing. So I did take some tramadol out of desperation. Only about 5 days. The terrible side effects I was having in the beginning have seemed to wear off. One 50mg tablet at night was lasting almost 24 hrs for me.

Lotsa deer, hunh?
It rained 6 days out of 10 for mine too,
but I wasn't leading a spartan, homestead, lifestyle.:o

Yes, the plan was to stay until Sept 10 or so. But when we got up there it was SO DIFFICULT...cold...and we had 3 huge mechanical problems, 2 with the boats, and 1 with the frig,
that I could not face staying alone, so hubby could come back and work 2 weeks so we could stay longer. I begged him to stay thru his 5 wks because I was getting pretty anxious at night.

High winds and the dangerous waters that whip up are too hard for me to handle the boats with. I've just gotten too old to take those stresses, which I did easily when I was younger.

So we had to come home early. I did want to come home a bit earlier, but the weather was too rough to use the boats and
move our stuff back to the cars. sigh.

I'm not exaggerating...it was really cold. And wet, and WINDY.
My petunias rotted in their pots!
