Sounds crazy but RSD'ers.. any jaw/teethpain??

Really interested any out there can help me understand having jaw or teeth pain..I understand how it can happen as we have sympthetic nerves through our closed circuit system.. My dentist has actually picked up on a "halo" or "shadow" ring around the root of my tooth, unexplainable and it hurts all of the time.. root canal done in the nerve of the tooth.. so pain has to be in my jaw at the base of the tooth.....Any thoughts???

Yes, I have very sensitive teeth, it actually feels like the "tips" of my front teeth especially have a weird sensation sometimes.
I had or have TMJ also, and was operated on bilaterally for that twice.
Years of treatment for that.
The pain was in my face and became associate with headaches.

I use a desensitizing toothpaste always now.

I get the same pains. I always have a lot of jaw pain, almost like I have too many teeth in my mouth and there's pressure there. The pain goes from up by my ears to the top and bottom of my jaw, right round both sides of my face.

I recently had to have some teeth out so they did extra local at the start and the end of the procedure to help with the pain and it all worked well. I was worried about problems from all the sympathetic nerves in my face but it was all fine.

Tooth pain common with RSD

Hi everyone I had to comment on this one, thank you for posting it. I have very serious, scary pain on the left side of my face, jaw and 4 molers on the left side. I went to the dentist. there is nothing wrong with the teeth.

Infact two are caps with the nerves gone. It is rsd and worse something called the trimengal nerve(spelling?).

I once put oral gel on one of the molars or tried to and almost blacked out fromt he pain the coldness of the gel caused. thank God this pain is intermitten for me here one day for a few hours then gone for a while etc.

I read up on the site for full time activity from this nerve and the people that have that may suffer more than RSD if thats possible. They have multiple surgeries to have facial nerves removed etc. So I pray it does not get to that point for any of us.

Dr. S had two specail neck nerve blocks done for me. I can not explain to you how painful they were, no anesthetic at Hanahneman, but there were effectrive.

It was kind of like the coma, at that point Id have done anything to stop the face and tooth pain. thank you again for posting thiis, sincerely cz

sometimes a NTI helps with the jaw/face/cheek pain.

Hi CZ and all... I will start tooth sensitive toothpaste.. funny, but even with a root canal the pain remains.. but makes sense as th sympathetic nerves run thru our entire bodies... seems we all know that feeling... the pain remains.. thanks for all of your input...I wish you all an easier time of it..:o

I had a root canal 2 years ago. Even though it's been executed perfectly, I can still feel it pull and twinge at the base of the tooth.

I have jaw pain, and the dentist also saw some kind of 'shadow'.
I knew nothing about crps in the jaw. I was diagnosed 7 years ago. Left arm, shoulder....now spreading to scapula, left jaw, right jaw and sometimes right arm/scapula. Jaw pain started 3 months ago after minor dental work.
I saw a dentist and root canal specialist...both noticed shadow, but not enough evidence to do the root canal. This is weird to see this happened on someone else with diagnostic images.

Hey I wanted to tell u from a person who has been dealing with gen rsd for over 9yrs & has a dental backround.... Ive learened over the years that rsd effets everything @ least for me it has including teeth probs, mine are rotting from the inaide out which is more than embarrassing cuz first thing people think is Im a drug additic which is NOT the case. That being said u could hav the start of an infection in ur jae or in a molar that may not yet show on an xray so the dentist thinks nothings wrong, antibiotics is something to consider getting. I went thru this in nov & with in 3 days half my face, neck & chin were so swelled & I was so ill I was in ER 2x in the 3 days & only 1 oral surgen would take me & kept a very close eye on me, honestly its nothin to ignore I hope this helps & if u have any questions feel free to ask I will do my best to help, have a good nite

What is NTI?
I have been off the site for a while, things went back to the normal everyday symptoms and I stayed focused on my kids. Im back, and will check in daily, hopefully. My jaw pain comes and goes, but nothing like the one I wrote about. That pain was SCARY!
