THE Attorney Visit

Attorney Visit:
loved my attorney.... has done W.C. cases 15+ yrs. knew exactly what RSD is. this is what he told me: W.C. cannot force me back 2 wk if drs haven't released me. if there's no "settlement" involved, W.C. must pay my medical costs 4 the rest of my life if i work or don't work. however, should we "settle" (large amount), that's the end - no med. bills pd, they're finished w/me! would u believe that the vocational rehab. person has set up a mtg w/my "supervisor" for friday. my drs haven't even released me! he told me 2 go ahead & attend.....they also set up a special session afterward w/my psychologist! this should b interesting! attorney told me i didn't even have to answer questions..... i'll prob. mention that i'll have 2 discuss everything w/my drs & attorney! wow.... verrrry tired

COMMENTS welcomed! :)

At the meetings be sure to follow any restrictions that you have, they may try to trick you into moving quickly {or anything drs say, or you say you can't do}.

Best to keep any answers as brief as possible as they may try to trip you up in that area also.
{even if they act all nice and friendly:rolleyes:}

In most states, if not all, the rule is once you hire an attorney you are not to talk to anyone at wc under any circumstances. You give them your lawyer's name and number. :-) The first time wc contacted me after I hired a lawyer and before he could notify them, I got great pleasure telling her, I've been instructed to tell you I cannot answer any questions here is his name and number. ROFL I enjoyed that one a lot. It was the last time I enjoyed dealing with wc though. lolol

Hugs,

Karen

This sounds good or it would if drs had released you. Do you think settlement would be bettter that lifetime of medical bills paid? It would have to be quite a settlement. Of course, I am not familiar with your condition or how much medical you might require in future. Discuss qthing with your Drs and Attorney. Sounds like you are off to a good start! With all of the lawyer jokes, this just goes to show that not all attorneys are bad. ;)

I agree with Jo - be very careful that they don't trick you into saying something that will hurt in the long run. A simple standard greeting "How are you?" could be used against you when you answer the typicial: "I'm fine, and how are you?"

It really is good that you found an attorney who is familiar with RSD and can guide you and protect your interests.

Hooray!

Mike

I'm so glad you've found a good lawyer.

I'm sure he'll echo Jo*mar's advice about not saying or doing much in front on the WC bureaucrats. They are only there to try and trick you. They will twist the most innocent utterance or movement against you. :hit-safe:When dealing with those wicked "people," paranoia is healthy.

Now that you've got a good lawyer, they're the ones who are running scared. Sit back and enjoy watching the worms squirm. :sunchair:

My case was a personnel inquiry case and my attorney was great, extremely well known in the jurisdiction that my case was heard in, that was one of the things I think helped me, was the the influence my attorney had in the court room. He really knew his role as a personnel inquiry attorney and just did whatever it took. We would all love to believe it's all about our inquiries but it unfortunitly not. I had to me very patient with the system, the judge, jury and the other side. After almost 3 years from the day I got hurt I finally got my reward and I think I did very well. I also had great doctor's who both testified on my behalf which was huge also

It was a very nerve racking time but my advise is to stay positive and always keep your appointments with you doctors, meetings etc, just as your attorney told you to.

I wish you the best of luck...
