Good Reading

Of course, it has only served to make me more paranoid. Some of the books I have read include
"The Brain Aneurysm" by Dr. Robert Spetzler (the guy who did my craniotomy and something of a God in the Neurovascular surgery world as I understand it)

"Brain Aneurysms and Vascular Malformations" by Dr. Eric Nussbaum

Both books are written in plain English and an excellent source of what to expect in surgery and written for patients and family to understand.

I went to the local medical library and pulled some of Dr. Spetzler's surgical texts as well because I am an information guy. My degree in Microbiolgy doesn't hurt either.

A good story by someone who has been through it and survived is "I had Brain Surgery What's Your Excuse?" by the person who wrote "Everthing I needed to Know I Learned from My Cat."

That's the one issue I have had in recovery and discovery that my aneurysms have continued to grow is that unless someone has been through it, they can empathize, but just don't get it.
