in again/out again
My little cat loves to go in and out doors. She frequently goes out, asks to come in and then immediately ask to be put out again. We call her game, "in again/out again".
Sunday it was a nice, balmy, cool day. My DH and I were canning pickled beets and we propped the storm doors in both the front and back open so we would get a cross breeze. My kitty took herself in out the front door, walked around to the back, came in the back door and then went back out the front door 42 TIMES! She was in heaven. We laughed so hard. She finally wore herself out and slept so well that night we hardly knew we had a cat. They sure keep you entertained, don't they? |
Perhaps you will spring for a pet door someday! We have TWO.
Cats are amazing creatures. When winter comes, our cats think the snow won't be at the "other" door! And they don't like the bathroom door closed either. Our cats have always loved the roof as well. We have a small tree, a Box Elder, that grows 45 degree angle to the porch roof which goes to the bedroom window. So finally we had to put in a cat door up there, and that, my friend, is a really fun cat thing to have! Our 9 yr old sits on the roof sometimes just for fun. Here is Oreo just sitting on the roof! |
My cats never go outside but they love to sit at the windows or storm door and watch what's going on. I just had a storm door put in at my back door and they sat there all day yesterday watching the back yard bird feeders. I could hear them "talking" to the birds. :p Gracie even took her nap right in front of the door in the sun!

In again out again
Hi guys, I am so curious as to what a "storm door" is. I live on the gold coast in Queensland, Aust. and I haven't heard of this sort of door??
We have heaps of storms here, very windy, rain and lightning and all but just have normal doors. Do you need storm doors because the winds are so strong and ordinary doors might blow in?? And I would definitely advise getting a cat door save your energy for better things and the cat will go in and out whenever. We have a red doberman, she is 2 years old and of course we have a doggy door, cause she loves to go outside and protect the property, especially at night. cheers Laraine |
Hi Laraine,
Welcome to Neurotalk. A storm door is quite a bit like a screen door, only it has removable glass panels along with the screens to help block the wind or the heat. |
