generic Zyrtec for seasonal allergies

I've been taking generic Zyrtec for around 4 weeks for seasonal allergies.

Is it possible for it to quit working already?

My eyes have been intermittently watering for about a week. Now today, I'm sneezing my head off!

The ragweed is very very bad right now.

I'm not supposed to take more than 1 pill every 24 hours, but I feel like I didn't even take one last night. (I did, I really did!)

Zyrtek only worked for a very short time period for me. And at times during
the really bad allergy seasons like now I have to take both.

Zyrtek and Singular. I take singular year round of course its a prescription drug. And I take zyrtek when I can tell I need a second medicine per my allergist and asthma doctor. What I do is take one in the morning and one
at night.

Now before I started taking Singular I took Claritin and now its over the counter also. So you might try calling your doctor and see what they want to do.

Donna, I actually did visit my doc yesterday. He put me on Allegra, but my head was still congested today. So I called the pharmacy and they said to do pretty much what you are doing.

So in addition to Allegra, I'm taking a generic decongestant containing ephedrin (had to show my ID and sign for it). It seem to be working okay so far.

Thanks for your response, Donna. Oh, and the pharmacy tech said that some people DO quit responding to Zyrtec. Funny, my head was clear and I could breathe, but my eyes kept leaking as if I were crying.
