They look thoroughly weird. I wonder how comfortable they would be?

couldn't resist

ok, i could not resist and bought a pair. i am still getting used to them. one thing i notice is i am always looking for some grass to walk in, i guess barefoot and grass go good together. i feel really grounded in them, and when the ground is concrete, it just feels so hard.

it's hard to get all the toes in the pockets, and the ones that have a low scoop on them make that part easier. once the toes can learn to move on their own it's probably going to be easier.

i feel like they work muscles that have not been used in years.

i had a tai chi instructor that wore them all the time for doing tai chi. he just loved the shoes. sounds like you're enjoying them as well.
