Limited walking distance & head pain

I was wondering, with MS is it 'common' that even when you're not in a relapse, that walking could still become difficult even after only 10-15mins?
'Difficult', as in a limp, then tight, stiff legs.
Does this happen to anyone here?

My sx have really settled the past 3 weeks (finally!!!) but still occur like I just described, but then go away after rest this time.
I've also had a head cold, and have had intense shooting nerve pains in limbs and especially my head. That is a bit scary - in your head! Always in the same spot - left upper head. I looked up 'cranial neuralgia' and it seemed to fit.
Has anyone else had that?

I see my neuro next week and have to have the 'what next?' discussion.

I'm just feeling really down about being limited to what I can do physically, especially now the weather is much nicer and the kids want to get out more.
Being school holidays doesn't help. I'm exhausted!

Yes, Ever since my first flare my walking has been stiff. My problem is my left leg. I usually do better in the morning, but by evening, I am really limping along. I use a cane everywher except when I am at home. and sometimes I even need to use it at home in the evenings.

I also have cranial neuralgia. It is worse when I am hot, stressed, or really tired. I took neurontin for 2 years, and it did help with the pain.

I have trouble walking on a regular basis. Sometimes I can only make it 5 minutes; other times 30 minutes. I never know what is going to happen when I go to do something (whether it be a walk or grocery shopping, etc.). Some days my legs want to work, some days not. Sometimes they feel heavy and weak, sometimes they just stiffen up and go in to a spasm.

I don't walk much anymore, but I know what you mean. It's probably only temporary and due to weather changes.

My bane of my MS are the head pains. I'm Relapsing/Remitting MS, the head pain doesn't dull unless I take prescribed marijuana. I've too tried Neurontin and a few other medications without success.
(I take Cesamet, pill form THC, prescribed through a pain doctor here)

Barb
My left side is effected too, but when I really push it, then both legs go stiff.
Do you get it in both of just the left?

Tkrik - I can really relate exactly to what you said. It's so hard to plan outings when you don't know what your legs will do. Do you have a cane handy for when/if your legs pack up?

Even though I'm not dx'd with anything, can my neuro prescribe something for the leg stiffness? This is my worst consistent sx.
The head pain is subsiding now thank goodness!!

I am no doctor but I watch them on TV.:D

For your stiffness, maybe ask about Baclofen? It may help.

I take both baclofen for the MS hug and gabapentin (neurontin generic) for pain.

Hope you have a good doctor visit.:)
