Oh great...well...not really.
The left side of my face seems to be going numb now. My head feels weird when I brush or comb it. My left ear feels weird.
I can feel numbness in the left side of my neck (oh, and my neck and back hurt) and now the entire right side is numb...I can tell it's in my left leg now. Was wearing jeans today and the fabric was irritating the heck out of me. My left foot feels almost as numb as the left hand and arm. I guess I'll wait till tomorrow and call the neuro, since his office is closed now and I've probably annoyed him enough earlier this week. |

If the doc. gets annoyed with you --- it's time to get another doctor. Keep calling. You need to see him ASAP. I hope it passes quickly!!! Niko:cool: |
Do I really need to go see him as soon as possible? (going to see him costs money...)
It's just numbness...annoying and uncomfortable, and makes me panic sometimes, but it's just numbness. |
Sorry to hear this Erin :( Maybe time for steroids... or whatever your neuro can do to help you.
Best wishes, Linda |
I did ask for steroids the other day (before the side of my face numbed up, and before my left leg went numb...everything else on the left side was numb tho)
The neuro said "no". I think I'll wait a few more days and see if anything else goes weird and then call him back and ask for steroids. |

well, he wanted me to wait a week or two to see if the numbness improves on it's own. Which, I thought was sort of reasonable, even tho I hate being numb, and am impatient and dont want to wait the week or two to see if it happens on it's own.
I think I can wait a little longer, even tho I feel like I'm being tortured. |
Erin, sorry to hear about the new area of numbness :hug: I have found my numbness areas above the shoulders have been the hardest to get used to.
I'm the squeaky wheel - if something is driving me bonkers, I usually call the doc until he's bonkers. :D But that's just me. If it doesn't improve soon, let him know that the numbness expanded to a new area. Take care of yourself!:hug: |
My first MS symptoms, before my DX, was facial numbness. Very scary, but it goes away and was not part of a major exacerbation.
I'd write this down and wait, unless it gets worse. |
I'm calling him tomorrow. The numbness is worse in my left hand (altho, it's not as horrible in the pinky as it was tho...I can still type) It's just causing more pain than it was.
The arm is waaaaaay more itchy than it was. (yes, I tried Benadryl, didnt seem to help) My left ear is numb now too, numbness seems to go inside of my ear too...ear hurts a little too, and then there's the matter of the itchies...(why is the MS torturing me with all the itchiness this time? That's almost worse than the numbness!) Left leg is now numb from the toes all the way up to my butt. That feels really strange, having half a numb butt. It wraps around my upper thigh and the numbness goes into an area that I really dont want to have numbness in. Plus, again there's the itchiness factor...(driving me nuts!) I know I shouldnt go running for the steroids whenever I feel weird, I just dont know how much longer I can really stand having numbness in my hands. Especially when there's also pain involved. The itching too... |
