I feel yucky

Not sick yucky, but an MS yucky.

Stupid numbness is at it's wrost, if there's any typing or spelling mistakes in this, blame it on my pinky and ring finger being totally numb. Pinky wasnt totally numb this morning, but has gotten worse as the day has gone on. Left leg is tired and doesnt seem to like stairs (yay for the stair chair thingie that we bought for my mom to use)

and I'm so tired. I went to eat with my parents, and that sucked out all of my energy.

I still have to go to the pharmacy and get my oral pred prescription. Pharmacy is running way behind tonight. I dont think I'm going to get to take the prednisone tonight. (read somewhere it's better to take it before 9am)

at least it's not a vision problem this time. I'm not dizzy, but I am a little off balance (tipsy feeling, without the fun of the alcohol)

I just hope the steroids work.

Hope the oral pred works quickly for you, and you feel better real soon...

Do you have your steroids yet Erin? I hope it works for you. I never did well with steroids but I know many people have great results. I felt yucky today too, so you've got company.

Walgreens took their sweet time filling the Rx for me. It was almost 10pm before I was able to get it. I better count to make sure they're all there.

I have to take 6 for three days, and then 5 for three days, 4 for three days and so on...

It's 18 days worth. 10mg each. I hope they work, and work quickly. I can feel the numbness getting worse as today has gone on.

My legs, both of them, feel really heavy and tired. Like I've done a ton of walking. I hope that's just spasticity and not something nastier.

My neuro had told me to take them before 7pm tonight, but because Walgreens was so agonizingly slow in filling the Rx, I'm going to wait till morning to take them. (going to try to take them before 9am.)

I thought about taking them tonight, but decided I'd like to be able to sleep. The first time I had oral pred, I was bouncing off the walls from the steroids, but I slept fairly well from what I remember. I'm a little worried it'll make my insomnia worse, since when I had IVSM earlier this summer, that did worsen the insomnia.

I just want the numbness in my hand gone. I think I hurt my hand, (one of the fingers) yesterday, because it's swollen today and looks bruised. I dont know what I did to it, but I'm guessing that because it's numb, I didnt feel the original injury. I can still move it (stiffly, but it moves) so I'm guessing it's just a sprain or a bad bruise.

I really want the itchiness to go away too. I'm trying not to scratch, but I'm worried I'm going to flay the skin off scratching it. I cant wait to get the steroids going in the morning. I'm getting up early for a breakfast of cherry yogurt and applesauce, with a cinnamon Altoid chaser.

I hope the prednisone doesnt taste too disgusting. It was nasty when I had it in 2007. The taste was the reason I went for the IVSM for my vision (along with the fact that I read the Optic Neuritis Treatment Trial that says no oral pred to treat ON)

Hope your feeling better quickly!

I ended up taking the first dose of the pred at 2am. I just didnt want to wait any longer. (I also get impatient for presents at Xmas)

I didnt have any problem sleeping, but then I went to bed about 20 minutes after I took the pred. I did wake up several times during the night, but I slept from a little after 230am till nearly 1pm (it's 1250 right now)

My hand is still seriously numb, toes are still tingly, leg is still numb, but I didnt really expect that first little pile of pills to do anything for all that yet. Weird that I feel a teeny bit dizzy and nauseous...wonder if that's a side effect?

I hope you are feeling better soon, Erin..

feel better soon; take it easy. sounds like you've had a pants time of it.

Is it normal for symptoms to get worse two days into a steroid taper?

When I went to bed last night, the left side of my body had started to become the most numb it's been since this flare started a few weeks ago.

Of course, the night before I hadnt had any sleep and only had a 3hr nap yesterday afternoon.

I wonder if it's a bad thing that my throat is sore this morning? (didnt take my stomach pill yesterday that I'm supposed to be taking everyday while getting steroids)
