Anyone Blend with VitaMix or HealthMaster?

I am going to the home and garden show today. I love going to these shows, not only to look at home improvement products and services but also I LOVE those guys demonstrating the "gotta have it now" products. I don't buy them, but I enjoy them.

One of the ones that is at all the shows is the Vita Mix blender. I have always wanted one but wont' spend the $400 or so it costs. I have a magic bullet blender and use it every day, mornings for my protein shakes, and other times all the time. I do think I would use the Vita Mix blender but can't afford it.

Today I saw an infomercial hosted by Montel Willians pitching his new "Living Well blender" Has anyone else seen this infomercial? It looks amazing and does most of the things like the Vita Mix blender does.

I really want to start eating better and there is so much to be said for blending foods, especially about eating more fruits and veggies.

DUDE! Turn off the freakin' TV and read a book!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI: It looks like a whole bunch of papers stuck between two thicker, flat thingies.

I've seen the infomercials and it looks like a great machine. But....I get all excited about it and use it for a while and then stop. And it just becomes another appliance stored under the counter. If I could be sure I'd use it consistently I might try to save up for one. Right now, it's just easier to pop my vitamins and eat an apple.

Earl,

You can get a powerful blender for about $50, right? Why get one from an infomercial?

I've been looking at them since vacation where they served us delicious and refreshing fruit smoothies each morning made out of freshly picked tropical fruits, mmmm-mmmmmm good! :)

I have a HealthMaster I bought a few months ago and love it. It really does work as well as the infomercial says. Even the green drinks that kinda look disgusting taste good! lol Honest! They are also a few hundred dollars cheaper than a VitaMixer which I was looking at first on e-bay. Also the VitaMixers were slightly used ( but you can never be sure how used they are til you buy one) on e-bay. It came with a lot of recipe books too. It even makes hot soups!

Same here, Wiz! In HI we had the most amazing smoothies and we learned that the trick is never, ever use ice— freeze the fruit!

I can replace my pretty decent blender 10+ times for the price of one of those. I'm not a vegetarian, if I want soup, I boil a bone. ;)

according to montel (and he knows all, yes?) this isnt just a blender! its an emulsifier! you can put WHOLE fruits, and veggies in there! grrrrr......it pulverizes them into liquid! grrrrrr......$200 yep, you gotta love montel.
