Anti Inflammatory Food Pyramid from Dr. Weil
I've been trying to follow this type of diet for the past year or so with some success. I fell off it while traveling this summer and pulled this out the other day to try to get me back me on track with a healthy nutritional diet. It's not really a diet so to speak, more about food choices and how it affects your overall health.
The pyramid basically replicates much of what Dr. Hoosman proposed with his RSD diet in his RSD puzzles. A good common sense food guide that can be followed to a certain degree by those of us with RSD. I think the only questions I would have regarding this is the red wine and chocolate given that are stimulants that can trigger RSD depending on how sensitive one is. I put this food pyramid up by my fridge in the kitchen to help remind me about what I need to do especially when I get the munchies. I can turn bad snacks into a whole meal if I'm not careful so this is a great reminder to take the carrot or apple over the processed food snacks. Actually I'm trying like heck to eliminate all processed foods, including the ones from the health food stores because so many contain MSG disguised under other names in the ingredients. Watch out for things like hydrolyzed vegetable protein, hydrolized protein, sodium caseinate, yeast extract...the list goes on. I'm also very suspicious of the term "Natural Flavoring" as an ingredient. MSG is a known excitotoxiin bad for the nervous system. I used to think it was only something added to Chinese food, boy was I wrong. I'm hard pressed to find a can of soup on the shelves that doesn't have it in some form or another. It's in everything processed and and I don't want it in my diet but I digress. Dr Weil is a hero of mine. I don't have his book any longer....... someone is using it... But, his first book especially is incredible. As you read it, you know that you're absorbing "common sense". I recommend it to all! pete asb |

He has a dietary program in the clinics. He also put HBOT in both clinics. Inflammation and Low Immune System go with RSD. Dr. H has information on both. There are about 140 questions and answers.
