Appreciate the up days:)

Hi all,
I just got out of the hospital last night. I had breathing problems again and had to go in for IVIG. In mid September I got a sore throat/cough that lasted about four days. At the end of it I started to have shortness of breath. Well the sore throat went away but the shortness of breath stayed and just got progressively worse.

I had my thymectomy in Feb. and I was doing fairly well since then. I had the weakness in my limbs. But I had not had to deal with the droopy eyelids, breathing/swallowing problems since before the surgery. Well everything is back. I hope it is shortlived because I sure love my up times.

We really don't realize how good we are doing until we get to the other end of the spectrum. I am so thankful to be home and have my kiddies hugging me again I missed them so much!

I am trying to get prepared for thanksgiving this weekend. My husband said that we are just going to get KFC and save all the trouble. I hope he understands that it won't be much trouble for him at all and I will guide him through all the preparation from the couch!

Take care all! I am thinking of all of you and hope everyone is strong!

Hey Rezmommy

Sorry you were in the hospital. Maybe the IVIG will kick in shortly for you. I love it when you said your kids were so glad to see you. Such a precious thing isn't it!

About the holiday, I vote for KFC. You know the colonel (i think is spelled that right??) he is really a good cook! And it will give you a ton of time with your family! That's what counts!

Hope you feel better soon!:Wave-Hello:

Hey Melanie,

Sorry to hear you've been having a rough time, but glad you're back home. I know my son is the best medicine for me!:) Hope the IVIG helps and you start feeling better. I had my thymectomy in Nov. 02 and got out of the hospital a week before Thanksgiving. While I was able to do some of the preparations, most of my time was spent on the couch coaching my husband.:D You take care of yourself and get lots of rest.;)

Big Hugs,
Pat

Hi Rezmommy!

Hi sweetie! Sorry to her you are feeling rough again!:(

I know what you mean about being stuck in the hospital - my son is
becoming very resentful of Dr. I b/c I always seem to end up back in the hospital after my visits with him. I TELL him it is to keep me healthy, but he really wants me @ home where I belong!

I know what you mean about truly appreciating the good days - I appreciate them now more than ever! Once your health is gone for any length of time, you truly realize how much you took it for granted - @ least in MY case!:(

As for THanksgiving - can't you have everyone bring a dish? That is what we are doing this year! You can't be expected to do everything with all of this going on - it's just not right or fair! I know for our yearly X-mas party we are having it CATERED - there is a GREAT place on barter that we now use. Trust me, it really helps! If you feel tired during the festivities then just go to bed. Everyone will understand. You owe it to yourself to get rest whenever and wherever you can!

Will your Dr. allow you another boost of IV IG or the other? I really hope so!:D

Take care, honey and TAKE IT EASY!

Love,
Erin:hug:

Thank you wonderful people for your support, don't know what I would do without you! I am resting and appreciating. Believe me our thanksgiving is going to be very low key this year. ~ Melanie
