cellcept and finger rash/blisters

I use CellCept, started 3 months ago. About 2 - 3 weeks ago, I started getting sores on the sides of my fingers. At first I thought it was from checking papers at first, a sore from the pen rubbing on the side of my finger. But I had it on more than one finger. It was red and raw, it didn't hurt much, then it toughened up. They are still there though. I googled and found that 8% of CellCept users get dyshidrotic eczema. Anyone familiar with this?

Sorry, I've never taken Cellcept. I'm sure others here have and know about them.

HI Tbarney!

Hey honey!

I am on Cellcept, but have not that problem. I did develop a similar one on Imuran - excpet mine was peeling of the hands and feet. My neuro took me off of it IMMEDIATELY and switched me back to Cellcept.

I suggest you contact your neuro and let (s)he what is going on.

Other than that, how are you?

Love,
Erin:hug:

I'm on cellcept, and don't have these problems.
Probably best to let your neuro know whats going on.
Hope you get some answers soon
take care
Kate

Sounds like you are having a side effect of the medication. I looked up this medication and decided against taking it because I always seem to suffer from side effects. Let your Dr know about this right away. Please keep us updated.

My neuro is gone for the month of October. I see him the first week of November. I have been consulting with my family Dr. now. He said if the rash worsens, I will have to stop the Cell Cept.

I have been feeling pretty good. Eye droops slightly. My legs feel a lot better, not as heavy and wobbly feeling as before. I still am out of breath from walking upstairs.

Another side effect of CellCept is a funny taste in your mouth. I have that too.

I am overwhelmed with schoolwork, family activities, etc. I wasn't able to get on here for the last 4 weeks. I'll probably be checking out for another few weeks.

I hope you start feeling better soon, school is stressful as it is without adding MG into the mix. Just remember YOU are most important, you can't help the students if you don't help yourself.
