group chat appointments?

We would have to decide on an established "chat" hour. It would not have to be the same fixed time every time. just a fixed time pre-established with a couple day's notice perhaps. Anyone wanting to could start a thread to request a forum chat at a certain time. Then whoever would like to participate "signs up" by posting to that thread. that way we will know in advance if anyone can make it. people who aren't sure also then have a time of reference, and can "walk in" if they are available. if there are no replies, or only no-can-do ones, another time slot could be tried (start another thread). it sounds sort of complicated but really it is a step by step thing. the process is not perfect because none of us will have precise and consistent availability times... but i think we could swing it on a time-by-time basis. Another thing we could do, is to have a thread where we each post our general availability perhaps with GMT or Eastern Time to avoid confusion. Those times would just be for guidance when anyone wants to request a chat... obviously everyone's availability will vary somewhat from that. Anyway, this last thing is an optional. what does everyone think of all this? maybe some of you have better or at least alternative ideas on how to implement/coordinate something like this, also? Thank you Donna, for coming up with the idea! :grouphug: ~ waves ~ |
Dear Waves,
This is a good idea. I called in sick to work so I am going to bed for the day. I'll be back in touch later. M. |
as long as typing is okay. I'd love to get involved.
Not sure what my available time is. But If you give me ideas I'm available. Donna |
I think it is a great idea!
