Machine washable bed pillows?

Is there really such a thing as a machine washable bed pillow? We've had some that SAID they were, then turned into unrecognizable lumps of gunk.

machine washable and bed pillows just do not belong in the same sentence.:D

YES! They do exist.... Only one problem... My machine eats them. I do take mine once a month over to my best friends house she has one of those super large capacity front loaders i toss em in, and a pot a coffee later, they are ready to be fluffed and dried. Which is just enough time to paint our nails and have some lunch.

I just washed a pillow that my lil granddaughter :vomit2: on. It turned out just fine.

It almost looks like shredded polyester fiber, but not sure.

I bought some new guest pillows last week that are supposed to be simulated down that you can wash. We'll see if those wash up nicely later on.

Simulated down?

What the heck is that made out of ?? I am envisioning the mutant KFC Chickens. LOL

No seriously what is it? I had to ditch my down comforter and down pillows because the DH2B is allergic to them, makes his throat swell. Bad enough I had to get rid of my waterbed.

Its called "Microgel Down-Alternative." Haven't had any guests since I bought the new pillows, so I don't know if they are comfy to sleep on. Here is a link to the JCPenney website that has people's opinions (scroll down). http://alturl.com/dbn3

Much easier to get the covers for the pillows and bed that you can just wash. Then you never have to worry about washing the pillows themselves. We've had our pillows and mattress now for 2 or 3 years and they still look and feel brand new. Just make sure you get the ones that are designed to keep out the dust mites. I think they're labeled hypoallergenic.
