In normal aging, memory loss is usually slow. It may result in forgetting names, phone numbers, or where an item was just placed. Intelligence and problem-solving skills are not affected. True dementia involves loss of intelligence and problem-solving skills. It often cannot be reversed and will become worse over time.

Hi Mark,

I recently "passed" my cognitive studies test as well. :D When I went for my folow-up with my neuro-psychologist, she was pleased with my results. She said there is some slowing in my processes, but this is mostly due to age so there's nothing to worry about. Then I told her about me going back to school, which she was so excited for me for doing so. She said this is the best thing I can do to keep the neurons exercised. ;)
