Neuropathy

Another item that works to relieve the hot pain on your feet --I use this product almost everyday or twice a day if I need it as it also has a healing effect.

I was seeing my Dermatologist for an unrelated problem and he asked me about my feet. I told him I was so sick of taking pills to keep the pain under control -- five a day -- I was thinking about just letting it hurt.
These pills were driving me up the wall and I know many of you are in the same fix.

The good news is: There is a product that was previously a prescription product but is now sold over the counter. He insisted I write the name of the medication down. I started my plan to stop taking pills about the third day my feet were hurting very bad - I knew I had to do something. I then thought of the dermatologist suggestion. I went to two drugstores before I found the product. I went home and applied this to my feet and wow -- what a relief -- all in about 15 minutes. This was three months ago and I have not taken another pill, just use this medication.

I am not trying to get you to buy a product or endorse it. I'm telling you what a relief it has given me. I now thank the doctor for his suggestion and would like to pass it on to the people who need it because this disease changes your life.

The name of this medication is Zostrix with Capsalcin 0.75 for arthritis pain. The price was about $14.00 for a 2.0 oz. tube. You must apply it very, very thin. It will burn but after about 10 treatments the burning will subside. You will feel relief on the first treatment. I have used about 1/3 of the tube. I think it will last me 10 months easily but let me caution you -- do not put too much on your feet, just very, very lightly.

If this helps you, and I certainly think it will, say a prayer and pass it on to someone else that is suffering from this very bad diseasel

Many of us have tried capsascin (Zostrix) or another brand.

I really commend you that you endured 10 treatments to get relief. I couldn't stand it myself, and I have a high pain tolerance!

Capsascin is supposed to block "substance P" which is a pain mediator cytokine. It was originally developed for shingles pain.

But many of us have burning already, so more burning is just intolerable.

Welcome to NeuroTalk....I hope you stay and read up on old posts and contribute further.

I cannot stand it either. It is intolerable to me, too.
I use a menthol based cream such as Biofreeze or Icy Hot
(or generic equivalent) to cool my feet down.
Super Blue Stuff has been mentioned here before, too.
