Missed speech therapy appt AGAIN

Hi,
I went to my therapy appt at 4:00 and sat there a little while.
After a few minutes I was told by someone at the desk that I had missed my appt that was scheduled at 1:30. I was a no show.

What a mess.
I can't track of myself.

I told the person at the desk to give me an appt 2 weeks from now (I need a break!). She handed me a print out with that appt.

I'm feeling lost and confused.
I need to just
-go to work and
-come home and
-sleep to be ready for work.

oooooooh.

Dear Mari,

i imagine that must have been quite upsetting. but try not to be too hard on yourself.

i'm glad you are going to keep trying.

i am also glad you are taking a little break and set the next one up for 2 weeks from now.

if you would like to post the day and time of your appointment here on this thread, i will try and be an "intelliclock" for you and help remind you. i will put it in my cellphone agenda and set it up with a couple of advance alarms to remind me... so i can post and/or email you in time to help you get there.

i am hoping you made it through the rest of the day ok. you are doing a good job just hanging in there.

Sending you lots of hugs
:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:
and warm thoughts.

this sounds really frustrating.
Do you have a big planner with plenty of spaces to write stuff out? my day planner has 2 pages per day so I can really write down notes stuff to help me get thru the day.
You are trying....it will get better.
I jsut know that it will.
can hubby help you with these appointments?

Mari

I think setting up the appointment in 2 weeks is a good idea. I also think you need to relax the hardness on yourself. Its so easy to miss a appointment and its something that we all do. You will get it straightened out and not make the mistakes again.

You can even use the Calendar here on the forums.
you can add your appts and such and set it to give you a reminder notice.

:grouphug:

NT Calendar -
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/calendar.php

after you add the appt or event -then the next screen will ask you if you want a notice sent-

[Add Reminder: testing - appt
When to send reminder before event : {choices -1 hour to 3 days before}

Reminder emails can be slightly early or late. For example, a reminder scheduled for one hour before the event, will actually be sent between 1:15 and 45 minutes before the event. ]

I would allow plenty of extra time -at least a day to be sure I got it in time.

Hi,
Yeah, well in my old apt I had one calendar nailed to the wall and another I kept on my desk.
Lately, I was keeping a big spiral bound calendar / planner in my book bag to take back and forth to school. It seems that I could move to an electronic system but that would be worse. I can't even set a battery alarm clock and get it to go off when it is supposed to.

The furniture is all wrong in this room and I'm feeling crowded -- can't keep track of stuff.
I can't find my groove.
I spent the whole day feeling scared.

I told hubby when he came home from work tonight that I feel alone and scared.
We talked a little.

I am hoping hubby will come through for you in some way that you do not expect and help you

-- not feel so alone
-- get through the day to day
-- feel more comfortable in your home (maybe re-arrange stuff for you?)

I rearrange my furniture quite a bit, it helps me clear out the clutter and do a good clean too.
sometimes I don't really like the arrangement after I get done so I put it back the other way.:o

I wish your healing were quicker...I am sure that alone is frustrating....
sorry that you felt alone, I hope he gave you many hugs after you told him this....I would have!
