What Is A Poet?

What is a poet?
I wonder sometimes,
Someone who’s good,
With words and rhymes.
Inspiration,
Captured in thought,
Creative verse,
That can’t be bought.
I think a poet,
Writes from the heart,
Words with meaning,
I would call it art.
Inspiration,
Expressed in prose,
And emotions,
That they expose.
What is a poet?
Can it be defined?
Its many things,
Everything combined.

I have been busy creating my own poetry site, (in a moment of madness…or inspiration…I’m not sure which! lol) but it has given me something positive to do, while the weather here has still been so cold and wet...I'm wondering where Spring is! lol

Your poetry is very interesting: lots of ideas, clearly expressed, easy to read. Thoughts are gifts put into words and laced with feelings. Nice poem! :)
