Flare?
 

Yes, it's been a while. I've been okay...dealt with the heat of the summer the best I could...same old fatigue when I try to do much of anything. Now the weather is cooling, which I love, but the muscle tightness has come calling. I've been dealing with that for the last few days, along with more fatigue (after not doing anything, but extreme fatigue with any type of exertion. Thought I was going to DIE after taking my daughter shopping yesterday.), heaviness in legs, burning sensation on tops of forearms, and the muscle tightness has been bad enough that I'm taking 2 mg of zanaflex as needed when my normal is mostly just at night.

I guess I should call the neuro. I can't have IV steroids, so I'd have to take oral. He's also going to want to do an MRI b/c he told me to call the next time I experienced any heaviness in my legs so we could do one. I'll have to turn that down, though, b/c I've used all the money in our flexible spending account and going by how insurance paid for the brain MRI I had in July, I'd still owe $1000+ after insurance pays their part. We can't swing that right now.

Opinions...would you call this a flare?

Most likely it is a flare.

I do know that most hospitals are willing to work with you on payments if you ask them. For example, in the last year my 11 (so far) MRIs after my insurance have left me a little over $8,000 in debt to the hospital. And I am not working right now due to the problems I am having medically. They set up a plan and are willing to accept $20 a month which is my minimum. I usually send more than that, but the lady at the hospital explained to me that even at $20 a month it is still better than nothing and they would rather have small payments than none at all.

I'm glad your neuro rx'd without making you do the MRI. Some are good that way, understanding that we're not made of money and unlimited ins resources.

Hope the steroids work.
