Probably a dumb question...
...but... is it possible that ms can cause shin splints??? I know we aren't suppose to blame everything on ms.... but I find myself looking back when I was young, upper teens and early twenties. So many things that were taking place with my body probably were ms related.
I was a runner and basketball player. Around the same time I started having vision problems and headaches just out of the blue... I also developed shin splints. Now here is the weird part...the reason I'm wondering is...that a friend of mine who also play ball AND HAD SHINSLINTS... was dx with MS at the MAYO clinic a few years ago. Okay it just seems weird!!! Does anyone know if MS can cause or make a person have more of a tendency to get shin splints????? Thanks! |
I actually experience muscle spasms that feel like shin splints...so maybe that's what was going on in you...I wasn't an athlete at all back in the day...so this is a new experience for my legs.
Interesting theory... |
The most common cause of shin splints is Inflamation......soooooo, there ya go.:)

I'm PPMS - DXed "02 but NOW I see things going back to '04. I had nothing. Was fine until I wasn't. But I only know PP, not RR.

I think Debbie and Sally are right. Spasticity can be the cause of feeling like you have shin splints. I have experienced that myself and know full well that I didn't do anything to cause the feeling of shin splints.:D You could be having muscle spasms. Not all spasms are painful.
BTW - I was a runner too! I dream of the day I can do it again as I love the feeling I get while running. I know the dream more than likely not become a reality but it's nice to think about.:p |
I think God has some running shoes waiting for us at the pearly gates!!! One of the many blessing to look forward too!
