Introducing my Abbey schnauzer
We just adopted Abbey Wed Oct 21 from rescue. She is 1 1/2 years old, purebred schnauzer who was an owner surrender because she was an escape artist. She was in rescue for just 6 weeks. She's a doll. She needs work walking on a leash, I want her not to mouth when she gets excited, and I would like for her not to jump on everybody. Everything in good time.
I have seizures; my previous schnauzer was good about it. I'm hoping Abbey will be good too. . |
Aw, she's adorable! :D I hope she learns well and you'll have a good friend for years to come. :)

She is really cute.
But..... she has a certain look in her eye! Looks like you have your work cut out for ya! |

What a sweetie Abbey is! However, I do agree about the look in her eye. This is a very intelligent girl with high energy. When she learns her boundaries and her 'people', she will be a terrific citizen!!
In time, she may actually be able to alert you to a seizure before it starts. Many young dogs learn to sense this in their owners. Studies have been done - - and they have proven it happens...they just don't know how the dog knows before the owner. Good luck with her - - and kudos to you for taking a rescue dog. Sue |
Ah she's adorable. Thanks for sharing. I had a friend's dog get into everything at 1st. She's much better now. Glad you have her.

. I miss my schnauzer! She was 16 when we lost her a few years ago. We havent had the heart to go puppy shopping again. She was an awesome doggie, and what a great breed. Very intellegent and wants badly to please you. Mine was a breeze to train. Give her a cuddle for me. I miss my own. |
She is absolutely beautiful! Thank you for the sweet picture.

Thanks for welcoming my sweet schnauzer girl Abbey. Today is exactly 4 weeks that she's been a member of our family. Our issue this morning is shoes; she loves my slippers(wants to suck on them) and a pair of "yard" tennis shoes I wear to go out with her in bad weather.
I'm finding her to be very sensitive to me; she seems to be picking up on the nuances of my seizures. I think in time she'll be good at it. Every moment with her is a "teachable" moment, and yes, she is very smart. LJP |
I loooove miniature schnauzers! I had one, but I gave it to my mother when I went to college. I couldn't take him back now.
They're really smart, really loving dogs! |
