P/N and swelling of feet: lymphatic drainage massage

Is it possible that all these years my swelling is from my lymph system, and not because I have HBP or need water pills? Anyone else with this issue? Have you tried lymph drainage massage . . . and if so, did it help? Can you be taught to do it for yourself?

I have read about this.... but I have no personal experience with it. I don't have much swelling with my feet, not since my thyroid was stabilized.

One thing I do for my hands, which do swell sometimes, is put a
cold pack over the ligament, and this usually takes it down quickly.

This author, who I respect alot, from her previous books...has an opinion:

I do know that my lymph channels were damaged long ago in my left foot, from a surgery to remove a tumor. This left foot is larger than the right, and sometimes has more pain, and is really sensitive to some shoe types. (high instep). It does not look swollen, but sometimes my shoes tell me it is.

The only medically lymph problem that is well known is lymphoma. If a person has painless swelling of lymph glands, the fluid will back up into the feet. Sometimes this is one of the only signs of early lymphoma. But there are many other causes as well.
