New to neuro

Hi all...just needed a place for reassurance I guess. I am seeing a neurologist this morning and am very nervous...My symptoms started in Aug, tingling in my hands and feet and around my mouth. Saw my GP and had lab work done, initially my B-12 level was low and I started injections, after several days, the symptoms subsided, but a few weeks later, they returned full force. Had another level drawn and was high normal. My symptoms persist along with new ones, whole rt leg with pins and needles, balance problems, extreme fatigue, lack of concentration (almost like a fog) muscle twitching, pain in legs....not sure what is going on here, but all I can find seems to point to MS. Have also found correlation to B-12 defeciency. I am a nurse and not usually nervous about my own health until now....any thoughts??

Hi Kewtie, Welcome to NeuroTalk. :)

It sure does sound like something Neurological is going on with your body. :( I hope it's just a pinched nerve, but we both know, that it could be MS.

I hope your Neuro is thurough and can give you an answer and help to soften your symptoms. Please let us know how it goes, today.

You've come to the right place for support. We are here for you.

Sorry to find you here, Kewtie, but glad to see you've got an appt with a neuro. The testing has just begun, so hang in there. There are other illnesses it can be: lupus, Guillaine Barre, B12 deficiency...Tingling can even be a reaction to some meds.

Keep us posted :D

Welcome to NeuroTalk Kewtie. :Wave-Hello:

You sound like me when I was diagnosed. I'd never really worried about my health until the MS symptoms started to get my attention.

I hope your appt. went ok. There's a lot of good information here and wonderful people as well. I'm glad you found us.

Dear Kewtie, how did your appointment go??

Thanks all for the words!! Appt went well, I guess, though he did not order MRI or anything yet, had more lab drawn, will have EMG done next week. He says he does not feel like it is anything like MS, but I am still left unsure of that. He did reassure me that if all tests that he has ordered are clear, that he will stick with me and find out what is wrong. So, all in all, so far so good I guess. I know how Dr's can be, he did not rush with me, appt lasted about 1 hour, which is very unusual. Guess this waiting thing I will just have to get used to, which I am certainly not good at. Instant gratification is the world we live in I suppose. Thanks so much for all the good thoughts. I will certainly be back here..Hope all is well for everyone :grouphug:
