ms... cardiomegaly/pulmonary vasculature?

hello. i have rrms dx in 2001. upon being scanned for a problem with my swallowing, 2 cysts showed up on my thyroid. at the bottom of the mri was a note saying:
cardiomegaly and borderline pulmonary vasculature. when i asked the dr about the results, he dismissed the note and told me its nothing, not to worry. this was 3 yrs ago. i have many symptoms that were pushed aside... should i disregard this notation in the scanned results or should i have looked into this further? i should say even before the test was taken, i had been to the e.r. a few times for palpitations and for a resting pulse of 140 or over.
thank you very much for your help...

Welcome to NeuroTalk Mamagirl. :) I'm glad you found us!

I don't know anything about that myself, but maybe somebody else will recognize what it might mean.

hello and welcome to NT,

i don't know much about this. however, i think it's worth a 2nd opinion.
i'd ask your pcp for a cardiology consult to evaluate the report. and, bring the mri's with you.

sometimes drs dismiss what they don't understand.
please follow up with this. then, your mind will be clear. it's better than missing something important.

keep advocating for yourself.
keep us posted.

Welcome MamaGirl!

I agree with Judy. I would talk to your PCP about it and get a referral or recommendation for a cardiologist and/or pulmonary dr. I don't know much about it but definition wise, cardiomegaly is an enlarged heart and pulmonary vasculature has to do with the vascular system within the lungs. And, as NurseNancy stated it is better to follow up for peace of mind than to worry about it and/or missing something important as well as very treatable.

I hope you start feeling better and definitely let us know how you are doing.
