Can a physical injury trigger MS symptoms?

I've been doing a lot of cleaning lately to get ready for a construction project in my bedroom, and I think I either moved one heavy box too many, or I picked up the wrong box the wrong way.

I posted the other day about my hair hurting and a weird pain in my neck and back...well, it's worse this week. My dad thinks I might have torn something up in my neck and shoulder area, because I've got pain and muscle spasms that go from the neck up into the back of my head, and down my shoulder blade.

Where the sharp pain is in the back of my head just above my neck, it's numb, and the numbness goes into my ear and cheek. My dad said that if I tore something, the numbness is probably normal for that kind of injury. (I'm probably going to go see a doctor tomorrow)

I'm just a little worried the numbness is an MS thing. Right now tho, the numbness isnt that bad, it's the pain from the spasms that's driving me mad. Even chewing food makes my neck hurt.

No more box moving for me. (It was just yarn, I didnt think yarn could get that heavy) I'm getting smaller boxes. The 30 and 40 gallon totes get heavy quickly.

Yes, any injury, illness or infection can cause a flare, and often does.

Take it easy for awhile...get lots of rest.

I dont know if I can rest. This really freaking hurts!

Either I broke my head, or I tore some sort of muscle or ligament that's at the back of the skull just above the neck. (is there a muscle or ligament back there?) It's right on the back on the head. The last time I felt pain like this was when I ruptured my achilles tendon. (that actually hurt worse than this, but this is about a 8.1 on the pain scale...ruptured achilles tendon was an 11.5 on the scale of 1 - 10)

I've been taking Flexeril for it. When I first noticed it, I'd been taking my Midrins (migraine headache pill, has tylenol and something else in it) That worked for a couple of days, but the pain has gotten worse since last night. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow.

I cant believe how easy it is for me to sprain or strain or rupture something.

I just hope they dont want to MRI me for this, because I dont like MRI's. I guess if they insist on MRIing me to see if I tore anything, I guess I'll tell them to poke me with some gadolinium while they're at it and look for MSish stuff. My dad is all worried that they're going to MRI me. (expensive! I'd rather not, I'm claustrophobic)

My dad said to put heat on it, that it should help it...but the whole Heat + MS = more numbness/MSish symptoms....I'm not sure I want to do that.

I cant wait to get my new desk built in my room...I cant believe I've injuried myself trying to get my room cleaned out to get my computer cabinets out of the room. Plus, I'll have more storage for all the crap that's currently spilling out of my computer cabinets.

I guess it's a battlescar from trying to corral all of my junk. I give up...I'm tossing a lot of this junk out rather than store it.

I once cared for a patient who found out she had ms after a car accident. It apparently triggered a flare that left her unable to walk. She did have a family history of MS so it didn't take too long for them to figure out what was happening and diagnose her also. :(

I think I had MS back in the mid-90s, but I kind of think I didnt really start getting a lot of the little weird symptoms like numbness in my fingers till after I had a car accident in 99. (car turned left in front of me, my car t-boned that car. My seat belts were crap, and I got tossed foward some and hurt my back and knees.)

No hospitalization, and it seemed everything was soft tissue injury, but it was after that when a lot of my problems seemed to start.

I cant wait to go to the doctor tomorrow (hopefully, havent got an appointment yet) My neck is killing me right now, and the pain is going up into the back of my head and I want to scream everytime I have a muscle spasm. Shoulder's are also screaming at me.

I think I'll go take a flexeril and hope that helps me get some sleep. I know I'll be screaming and crying into my pillows pretty soon if it doesnt let up. This seems to be more painful than the back injury I had in 99, but then this is in the neck, and I cant help moving my head and neck that much, so I might be aggravating it just by turning my head or moving my arms and shoulders.

I just want to make sure I didnt do anything seriously bad to myself, I dont even want pain meds (yet) since the flexeril seems to be doing a halfway decent job, I just keep letting it wear off before I take any more. (was starting to feel a bit stoned from being so relaxed, and was getting tired of falling asleep while I was playing Sims 3)

5 more hours till the doctor's office opens...yay!

It's cold here tonight, and shivering is making it hurt more.
