Arrrgh, the limbo!

I was told to get an MRI and scheduled to get an EMG on my right leg (huh...?) and come back at the end of January for an appointment. Such a loooong way away.

I had my MRI today. Oddly, though, I was given a CD with the images to give to my neuro at my next appt. She said that they dont send it to him and that he prefers to look it over himself - no radiologist reviews it. Is this normal?

And then I looked at the images, which may have been dumb...'cause I know next to nothing about what a brain SHOULD look like, so I don't know if anything is weird. It mostly looks normal-ish (So no MS?)...I think...to me... so I thought I'd ask you guys about the dots.

LOL what is that circle thing on the middle/bottom? It reminds me of one of those moths that have fake eyes on their wings!

Erm....what is that dot?

Welcome to NeuroTalk Hoshi! :Wave-Hello: I'm glad you found us!

Oh the wait between appointments can be maddening. I know exactly how you feel. The first time I had a hint of MS it took me weeks to get from that first relapse to my first appt and MRI scans. And the doctor I got was a total dud. :plain:

But then I found my current MS neurologist who diagnosed me. It took five very long months for me and it felt like an eternity.

Anyway, we're here for you, so keep us posted.

Thanks! I've been having issues for 4 years, but this past year it's gotten so bad that I had to quit my part-time job and had to drop some classes....and I just turned 21 2 days ago. So I'm ready to find out what's up already!

Maybe when I get my post count high enough, I'll post a few pics from the MRI and see if anyone knows what those things are....

Oh my, I'm nearly old enough to be your grandma. (I'm 51.) But I have two sons, in their 20s and I feel for you, I really do.

You'll get this all sorted out and we're here for you. :grouphug:

There are a few here who know how to look at MRI's (not me) and maybe we can help to calm your fears a bit before the appt.

That would be neat to get some opinions on them.
But I have to have a post count of 10 for it to allow me to post images...
...working on it... :p

Edit: Alrighty, put a few scans in the first post.

It looks pretty empty to me, Hoshi..:D:p ..Just kidding, couldn't resist.

Can't you ask the Radiologist to read it for you? I would sure try???

Welcome..

Haha, I know, right? :p

The imaging center told me they only do the MRI scan. It's really weird. They just gave me a CD right after it and said for me to give it to my doc at my next appointment.

Not only are there two eyes on that last picture, I can see a mouth that's kind of smiling. Is that Elvis in your brain MRI??? (Just kidding)

I should get my brain MRI disk out and see if I can see anyone in the images...maybe I'll see someone famous in the scans and then I can sell my MRI images to the highest bidder for lots of money?

The first image looks like your brain is angry...maybe it wasnt happy having to sit in the MRI machine for all that time?

The second one reminds me of a Rorshack test.

The last one, if you look at it one way, it looks similar to the first image, but not as angry...if you look at it another way, it's got two big bright white eyes in it, and it's kind of smirking.

Well, that was my (lame and silly) attempt at interpreting them (sorry, I did something similar when I first saw my own brain MRI...)

Hahahaha, I never thought of it like that!
