Stupid eye twitching... why does my body insist on bugging me?
 

It started yesterday during my Ty infusion. all day today every few minutes my right eye gets all twitchy. doesn't hurt just annoying as all. What is that??

OH and the pain in the shouldblade area of spine... LOL Chiro popped both my arms back in the socket.... who knew?

I was sitting here tonight, thinking about the numbness in my left arm that rotates between horrible, and really horrible...and I started to wonder. Why does the MS interfere in the parts of my body that are more important to me than some other parts?

I'm a crocheter and a knitter, color is a big part of my crafting life. First thing the MS did was zap me with optic neuritis that messed up my vision and ruined colors for me for over a year. (I fully expect the dyschromatopsia to happen again)

Now, the most recent MS annoyance is numbness and actual issues with moving my left hand. So. Not. Cool. When I crochet, I need my left hand for the yarnovers. (I'm ambidexterous, but when I crochet, I'm definately right brained. I cant make the mental switch to doing the yarnovers with my right hand)

Knitting is a bit easier to for me to adapt to. I taught myself how to do the yarnovers in knitting with my right hand. Now it doesnt matter which hand does the yarnovers when I knit. Only now, this week, I've got numbness creeping down my right arm. It's mild right now, but that's how it started on the left side two months ago. I'm going to be extremely ticked off if my right hand ends up like the left is right now.

I'm hoping the right side numbness, which is only in my arm, and not the rest of the right side like I had/have on the left is actually from the sprain I got in my neck from picking up something that was too heavy for me one too many times. (symptoms are similiar, waiting for the sprain to heal to find out if I'm right)

The MS seems to want to pick on the areas that make things the most inconvenient and disturbing.

you see? I complained about the numbness, then it was replaced with the creepy crawlies... then it was numb again and I said I don't know which is worse. then the creeepy crawlies came back and this time the little bugs that live under my skin brought fire with them...

THERE IS NO WINNING!!

Some days it's like a really bad game of poker...goes like this:

Body: I see your tubal ligation and I'll raise you numbness and uterine spasms!

Me: Yeah, well I see your uterine spasms and raise you 2 birth control pills and a percocet!

Body: I see your pills and raise you a numb and tingling face and some heartburn!

Me: I see your tingly face and raise you a neurontin and I will chase your heartburn with a tums.

Body: HA HA "All in" with balance issues and a good old case of hives!

Me: UNCLE!! UNCLE!! YOU WIN! I GIVE UP!

Hi! My names Tina and I love your analogy! Never looked at it that way before but you are so RIGHT-ON! Thanks for the chuckle. Ya just gotta laugh!

Back in the summer of 2006, about a....month before the optic neuritis smacked into my left eye, I was walking around the block with my dad and my aunt. I dont remember exactly what we were talking about, but I do remember saying something like:

"If I had to lose a sense, I'd rather lose my hearing than my vision."

I can remember that much about the converstion. I freaking jinxed myself when I said that, because it was about a month (mid-august) later that I had the worst headache I'd ever had in my life, went to bed crying and woke up (in more pain) with a ginormous blind spot in my left eye and practically no color vision in that eye.

Prophetic words. I try not to make those kinds of comments anymore. (so double jinx, and anything else to keep that quote up there from smacking me in the eyeball again)

The MS Trolls in my head (and/or spine) are fickle little creatures. They dont like it when I'm having too much fun, or when I want to actually go and do some work or go to school.

I'm hoping to try to go back to school later this winter or next spring, but the last time I tried that, I got diplopia. I'd really like to get a job, but I'm pretty much still unskilled. I was a decent typist until my left hand went numb.

I'd really like to experience the "remitting" part of the Relapsing Remitting MS, because I'm not sure I've experienced the remitting part yet. So far I've been RMS...the MS Trolls must have eaten that second "R"...or they're at least hiding it.

I cant wait for my sprained neck to heal, because I think that has angered the Trolls and that's why I'm feeling more MS-ish than usual the past few weeks. Plus, the sprained neck really really hurts a LOT! I'm starting to reconsider throwing away the Rx for the pain pills that the doctor offered me. (I may have put it in my wallet, but I've been cleaning my room and I think I tossed it accidentally) I wasnt planning on filling the Rx, but now I want to, but I cant find the Rx.

leggz: I know what you mean about this "lovely" thing called MS attacking our body parts that are essential! It's bad enough my legs don't work anymore, then the bladder has to go into overdrive!! I HATE THIS DISEASE!!! :( :( :(

Just the other day I had that eye twitching thing going on. I was stressed and on the way to a doctor's appointment for my DD. I had her look at my eye and she could see the twitching. It was so weird, I don't remember that ever happening before. Luckily part way through her appointment, it stopped. May it never return (yeah right good luck on that one!).

I get the occasional twitch in one of my eyes. It usually goes away after a week or so. I now have floaters in one eye - have been there for three weeks. After exam, doctor said I was it was due to aging. Great!

LOL yeah because having MS doesn't suck enough they tell you you're getting old too! Stupid docs. Should have blamed it on the MS like all of my doctors do! LOL

Welcome Tina, we tend to get a little loopy around here when we don't sleep!

OK, my whole body is making me pay for the cleaning yesterday... BUT it's ok! I have a great day planned for tomorrow, and i will drug this beast into submission if I have to!
