Using Lyrica for TGN

I have been having a major attack of trigeminal neuralgia triggered by a tooth abcess. I am trying not to use Tegretol this time so yesterday I started on Lyrica 75mg twice a day. Has anyone else used Lyrica? How long does it take to be effective? I need to get this under control so I can finish all the dental work I still need.

Active 69yr old lady. I have been taking Lyrica for 2 months or so. I myself have Post Herpatic Neuralgia and have for around 6yrs suffered terrible temporal and optic . Although Lyrica has taken away the pain it does leave me offbalance and a little fuzzy-minded. Relief kicked in after an hour or so after prescribed dosage (2 x 75m a day)

Hope this has been of help
