Funny story about sensitivity to touch.....
One of the benefits with RSD, as you all know, is how the most gentlest of breezes can literally send shivers up our spines. Because of this sensitivity I get inundated with attacks of goosebumps that drive me batty. I'd been noticing they were particularly horrible at night and I couldn't figure out why. Then, one night I did. Because of issues with my neck, I sleep with my head nooked downward, and realized my terror with the non-stop goosebumps was caused by the gentle breath coming out of my nostrils and hitting the skin on my chest!! How terrible to be so sensitive to your own breath!!! Needless to say, I worked on changing my head positioning and have been suffering less episodes of goosebumps since. ;)

That is (kind of) funny... not laughing at you though!
I had a c-pap machine, that exhausted all the air, right down on my chest. Well you know how long that (face peice) lasted! I have a much better one now... Another thing I notice about RSD, and especially before I acquired my tbi... I think that we're more sensitive to other people. How they feel, their emotions, and their aches and pains. I know my 2nd wife went batty (or, more so) when her daughters came to me if they had a headache, or hurt themself playing or whatever. Here's a REALLY odd one, ladies, tell me what you think. I caught her (wifey) giving her 10 y.o. daughter, 5 mg. of my METHADONE for what she thought was menstrual cramps! I took her aside quietly, and mentioned 'Advil' to her... I don't know if I stopped it or not. Strange, I thought... (sorry to change the subject). pete |
that really shocked me.
