Most Humble Greetings

I am Bill, 41, from Las Vegas, NV.

I am glad I found this site, for I am experiencing frightening throat burning pain, tightness with swallowing trouble, pain and tightness along trapezius/scm and around collar bone, adams apple, with tingling in left hand/arm.

I look forward to reading your posts and appreciate any input from anybody, as I am freaked out and scared by these troublesome symptoms.

Oh, I am on Ibuprofen 800 mg and nurontin.

Thank you most kindly.

Hello,

When did these symptoms start?
Just out of the blue or can you recall anything that may have set them off?

Could it be a repetitive strain injury of some sort, or have you ever had whiplash or a head, neck or shoulder injury?

I'm wondering if it might be muscle spasms, or thoracic outlet syndrome {TOS}, or possible a cervical spine issue.
Have you had any x rays or a MRI to check the c spine?

Thanks for the reply

Am having an MRI soon. Well, don't have a history of cervical spine trouble, although there is always a first day for it to start. Could very well be TOS...and not sure what treatments are there for that. The sparking has been gradual, but the swallowing involvement has been more sudden. I do have some anxiety issues, however, and I know some of it is that (although, this massive burning is prolly something else.

hi Bill, and welcome to neurotalk! :welcome_sign: i'm so glad you found us.

Have you seen a doctor for all of these symptoms? It could be so many things, or a number of different things causing your symptoms.

I wish you all the best.

Hi there D., Welcome, It is truly a shock to have intensely painful symptoms which seem to come out of nowhere. So many on this site are experienced in the fears and frustrations of being complicated patients for a system that prefers mostly run of the mill stuff. I found it hit and miss with the University Medical Teaching schools. But they were better overall with diagnostic skills. If you have any doubts, ask for a referral and never give up on your right to be taken seriously. Your age can lull others into the sense that there is nothing serious. Most of us have had our apparently 'healthy' appearance held against us to some degree on the journey. We all have had to more or less fight the lethargy of the system and learn to become our own advocates. Now your chance to learn these skills on your own behalf is presenting itself. Hang in there with the intention to get to the bottom of it and not just treat the symptoms. Many here will be able to support your process as it unfolds. Wishing you good luck! Best wishes TT

Welcome to our big community of caring people

I sure had you odn't have answers yet. It's usually not as bad as our anxiety makes it out to be. Having answers does help one's situation.

It is hard to get good care, so don't expect a lot but do ask a lot of questions. You can gather morsels here and there and later on things will make sense.

Are you keeping a journal of your symptoms and ativities right now? That may help figure a thing or two out.

If you're having difficulty doing things because of these symptoms, let us know. We can usually suggest things from our experience that may help you in some way. Just let us know. We're here for you. :grouphug:

Thanks to you and everyone for your kind welcome and encouragement; it is most helpful indeed to know that one does not suffer alone. I am just beginning my journey, and understand how anxiety makes things worse (I am a Master's/graduate student in Psychology after all...go figure lol)

Any who, thanks again, and I will most certainly keep y'all posted.
