Neuropathic pain and anxiety pills

Is the sympathetic system involved in the Neuropathic pain process?

If one's can control its neuropathic pain with anxiety pills is because....

Does anybody knows?

When I take Diazepan my pain is gonne. Is it normal in small neuropathies?

No it is not normal in small fiber neuropathy.

You obviously want a reason to take diazepam.

If diazepam relieves your issues, it causes them. You are having classic withdrawal and if you visited the sites I gave you, you would know.

Your sympathetic nervous system is on overdrive in withdrawal.

When you take a pill it relieves it.

When you stop the drug, the sympathetic nervous system goes on overdrive....this is not neuropathic pain, it is withdrawal. The bad feelings go away eventually, if you stop before you damage yourself. Just like alcohol, the longer you are on the stuff, the worse you damage yourself.

It is highly unlikely you have neuropathy, and testing any one on benzos is a waste of money. Until you are off this, you will feel like you have neuropathy when the drug wears off.

Now consider what it is like to have this and not have a drug relieve it.

That is neuropathy.

No drug relieves neuropathy completely. If you are getting relief from diazepam, it is the withdrawal from it that is causing the burning.

It burns like hell to stop benzodiazepines. It is the worst pain known to man. I will vouch for it. AND it gets somewhat better after the first two weeks, which are awful. I think for you, you should consider an inpatient withdrawal.

I am not going to read or reply to any more of your posts. I feel badly for you, but I can't help you at all. You have your own agenda.

But can diazepan damage your peripherical nerves?!?!??

In my opinion, yes. Your nervous system will not take constant interdose withdrawal without some consequences.

However, it is not fully accepted that benzo's cause damage.

They cause substantial problems. I gave you a website with a live chat to answer your questions. I suggest you visit it. Your reluctance to consider this drug as the source of your misery makes me think you are looking for validation to take it.

Valium is not a medication for PN. It is for anxiety. It causes a withdrawal syndrome that is identical to what PN feels like.

Not damage exactly.... but they lower the threshold for firing over time.

Diazepam has some antiseizure properties. It is given after a seizure to prevent aftershocks or reseizing. When it first came out, it was not known to be so abusable, so when people got heavily involved with it, they found that seizures occur in some who withdraw too quickly. So its affects on nerves is to dampen functions, and when used alot, the nerves go nuts when the drug stops. This is why it is not a good idea to use it!
When you decide to stop you MUST do so with a careful tapering off of the dose, smaller and smaller. The link I gave you in PM today is the best site to explain tapering off diazepam or other benzos.

So yes, you feel better using it, and when it is not there the nerves can OVER-react to its loss. In the end you are worse than you started.

Thank you MrsD.

Very well put.
