filipe's wife questions

Hi there

I want to thank you in the first place because I think you have all been helpful to Filipe. We're all in the family undergoing a very bad phase as you can imagine and the worst of all is that I'm not sure yet about what is wrong with Filipe. This is the most frustrating because I don't know how to help him properly. Most doctors have diagnosed him with a severe depression. And, although I believe that might be the case, why have physical symptoms appeared before he had depression symptoms? He started to feel pain physically when he was quite healthy mentally, or at least so I've been led to believe then. He was happy with his life and doing sports everyday. That confuses me. But it's hard to believe he has neuropathic pain because his symptoms are much milder than those doctors or net sites describe. So right now my questions are:
1- Could he have NP and still have absolutely normal (very good in fact) blood tests as he has? What your blood tests like, those who have been diagnosed with this disease?
2- He gets well, or practically well when he takes a diazepam pill (he's taking 2 a day prescribed by one of his doctors). If he really had NP do you think a pill of that kind would help? Isn't it strange?

Thank you for your time.
Take care.

Hello, Lurdes.

I would like to ask you to read his PMs and other posts.

Most of us have posted things over and over to Filipe and he doesn't listen. Most of us don't want to go over the same ground again.

But I will say, depression can cause pain in the body or make it worse.
Here is an article from Harvard that tries to explain it:

I really think Filipe would benefit from yoga training, or meditation, or hypnosis (and learn how to relax himself with auto hypnosis and relaxation exercises).

The use of diazepam is really a bad choice over time as it creates more problems and is very habit forming and changes nerves with time. (lowering thresholds). For acute spells it can be helpful, but every day use leads to dependence and more problems when it wears off.

hello Lurdes

as mrsD has explained, these questions have been answered here over and over by our members, so I would suggest going back over the many replies to felipe's questions and also ask him to show you the PM replies

I really do feel our members have tried hard to give as many answers as possible to these repeated questions and so best that this thread that just goes over the same things again be locked for now

we hope felipe will find relief from pain and that the New Year brings health and happiness
