Blurry Vision
 

Wondering if anybody's vision blurs like this. I will be sitting at the office looking down, reading something on my desk for awhile and my vision begins to blur. Same at home trying to read in bed or in my lazyboy. As well my neck and whole head will begin to hurt after doing this for awhile. The only remedy is to straighten the area out, look only ahead and if possible lay back and rest until it clears. Just wondering if anyone else has gotten this as a symptom or as I suspect this is something totally separate from SFN. Thinking it might have to do with loose connection around some degenerating discs rubbing on nerves or something.

years ago my vision would dim at times and become a little blurry. I would be ok if i laid down and closed my eyes for a while. That hasnt happened in years and was mostly before i got PN.

I can get blurred vision from some restaurant food. Also some processed soups are culprits. I always thought it was the MSG in them.

Now that I found some Progresso soups and the new Campbell's Select...those are MSG free and very nice.

I remember once visiting my son at college and we went out to Chili's. Then to shop for clothes for him. Both of us had blurred vision that time, and also it came with severe thirst!

I'd keep a food diary, and see if you can find some food triggers.

And while we are on FOOD... chronic idiopathic PN can be due to Gluten intolerance, so looking at this information maybe helpful:

This is position dependent and not related to food at all. It has to do usually with putting my neck down to look at something for an extended period. The doctors want me to get a spinal tap to look for leaks of spinal fluid that might be causing the dizziness and maybe this?

It is a spinal CT procedure where they inject and look for leaks in spinal canal. Anyone had it done or can advise either way?

From what I have seen about leaks.... headache is usually the presenting symptom. (regardless of head position) As the fluid level goes down, headache appears quickly.

Rather than a "leak" you might have Arnold Chiari malformation.

Vision problems are part of my whole symptomology.

I do get horrific headaches with eye pain, vomiting, base of skull pain, and eye twitches, but the vision trouble happens at other times too.

I have diplopia on and off and problems with the 5th and 7th cranial nerves that affect my left eye. I have trigeminal neuralgia, so this is an expected finding my neurophysiologist said.

Some days my vision is pretty good, but reading is an activity that is mostly over for me unless the doctors find a treatment for it.
