TN is NOT from vascular compression
I had an MRA and it showed normal brain blood vessels. Because I have sensory-motor neuropathy, my neurologist feels the TN is from the same cause as the problems with my legs.
Today and tonight I have had vision changes with difficulty reading and my face is swollen and tender. Won't be able to sleep on the left side. I am taking 400mg tegretol 2x a day and it keeps the pain at bay. Hopefully the next round of tests will determine the cause of the neuropathy and they can start some kind of treatment. My hope is that it will help the TN too. |
Swelling and color changes may point to RSD. I sure hope this is not the case for you.
Check out our RSD forum: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/fo...aysprune=&f=21 You didn't have the nasal flu vaccine by any chance? It has caused inflammations of facial nerves as a side effect. Also, and I am sorry to bring this up, but it is a serious consideration --is that the lymph is backing up and not draining from your face. The main cause can be lymphoma. Also swollen lymph nodes from infection or Mono will do it too. Some cancers will cause a paraneoplastic neuropathy. I also hope this is not your case. |
