Cog Fog cure?
I know, I am always wary of the word "cure," but has anybody used the Brain Fitness program that is being offered on the PBS stations? I have major cog fog, and I was wondering if this program might help. The price is pretty steep, though.

Maybe you could try working one or more a day and see if it helps you before signing up for some expensive program. There are probably other approaches online to keep your mind in shape too that are free. gmi |
The coolest mental exercise I have found so far is called stumbleupon.com.
You chose a category of interest, and it feeds you website after website. If you like one of the sites they showed you, you click “I like it.” After a while, they have a pretty good idea of what turns you on, and they just keep feeding you material that you’ll love. For example, when I am feeling burned out, I choose the category “Photography,” and they show me wonderful things. It is completely free. I guess I just crave input. |

I play Brain Trainer on DS every day and I'm getting better at Sudoku. i wouldn't touch it with a barge pole before all this but I made myself do it and now enjoy it.
Lumosity do some fun free games on trial. Just keep making free hotmail or yahoo internet accounts and you can sign up for a free fortnight each time. The memory puzzles really show me how bad i've become. I have the attention span of a chicken. |
They actually claiming its a "cure"? I'm not familiar with the Brain Fitness, I have seen others and UCLA'S MS Center runs some sort of program. I guess it has some real validity. I asked my neuro about it and she didn't discount it as having some benefit.
I'm having more trouble with my memory lately and its causing problems at work. I need to do something, I already do crosswords. If you do decide to try it, maybe you could let us know how its going? |
