I got the pump on Tuesday
Hi all,
This will be short as I'm still tender. I got the pain pump implanted and WOW...it is the most amazing thing I[ve ever had. They put the pump in my back instead of my stomach area, so my pain is all surgical in the back. I'm off all my long term pain meds. I'm taking percocet, but that is for surgery pain. I go back on Feb 2 to get staples out and maybe an increase in the dulidad. My normal pain level is at maybe a 2. back pain is about a 8 if I move too much or press on it. but of course, we know the pump doesn't work on regular pain. ANyway, just wanted you all to know that I am back and feeling like a million bucks. I wish I knew about this 4 years ago. I could have saved myslef a lot of pain and wasted time. I'm going to call my pcp in about 5 wks and tell him that I'm doing great and should be able to start work earlied then I anticipated. (I orginally told him 10 to 12 wks). Now I know it is so much bnetter. I can't tell you how great I feel. I could cry I'm so happy and feel soooo good. Hugs to all Mary |
Wonderful news, Mary!
I hope it continues to give you a lifetime of relief! pete |
I know the feeling of FINALLY GETTING RELIEF :) I balled like a baby after I had my first nerve block, as i couldnt move my fingers or arm for 4 months, and then after months of RSD life... I had 3 day ketamine infusions... I balled like a baby. Being 20 years old and so disabled when I finally get part of my life back, there is nothing like getting relief finally!!! I am sooooooooooo happy for you:) There arent any words to describe the gratitude!!! May you progress better and better day to day!!! :)

Mary~ Fantastic news!! I am so happy for you and that you will continue to feel great...take time to allow your body to heal as to not push it and set yourself back from the surgery... Again..I am so tickled for you..you have brought sunshine to my day!! Thanks...:winky: |

XOXOX Sandy |
What can I say except.............YAY!!!!!!!!!!!:yahoo:
Blessings for continual and future relief :) Vanna |
ok i'm still feeling wonderful i'm typing one handed as i am trying to behave myself. iys hard when you feel as great as i do. now my back hurts from the surgery. but not too much. the scss that i had were 1000 times more painfull then this one. i wish someom\ne had told me about this long ago. i did have to find a dr in another state, but that is because IMHO. it involves a long term commitment from the dr. not just putting something inside youm then handing you over to the company rep. my dr and i will have a very long relationship. i just want all of my friends here to think about this. and if you are like me you may have to see several drs before u find one willing to give u the compassion and caring that u deserve, don't take no for an answer
hugs mary |
Hi Mary,
