B6 from Pyridoxine hcl vs P-5-P re nerve damage

Does anyone have any hard data sites that are trustworthy that refer to clinical studies re pyridoxine hcl vs P-5-P re nerve damage? I'm reading from sites that say using the pyridoxine hcl can cause nerve damage. I don't know the difference in the different B6s, so I'm trying to find out if there's truth to this and exactly what kind may be in the WSN vitamins I'm taking. It says B6... but what kind? I'm concerned. I'm going to call them and see if I can get further info, but until I can get an answer.....

I don't think any of us here are willing to risk more nerve damage; I'm not. Does anyone know anything that can ease my mind?

This is the B6 information I have gathered.

Products that do not give detailed info on their labels should be avoided. But in general if the B6 is not detailed, it is the regular pyridoxine. P5P is usually labeled as such.

The same thing happens with magnesium. Many supplements will say "contains magnesium oxide and citrate" when in fact 90% or more is oxide. Most places go with the cheapest available.

The WSN product:

2mg of B6.... nothing to worry about.
But I will say it is very expensive for what you get out of it.

Thank you, Mrs. D.

I'm thinking I should begin pricing these vitamins to possibly buy them separately from now on if you think there's a big difference. I was trying to take the hassle out, I guess, of having so many bottles around. My God, I've got so many already. And the 2 mgs is per capsule I imagine. I think the max is three capsules 4 X a day, so even then, if my math is right, it would be 24 mgs. I hope that's still a good number in case I continue on???

What kind of B6 would you take, Mrs. D? I understand there's three kinds?

I'm anxious to read what you posted.

Thanks again so much.
