Being Admitted tomorrow

Hi all,

I just wanted to send a quick note on what's going on. I'm still struggling along. My bp is still high and everything is still a mess. Even more of a mess then I thought. My MRI reports came in and here it's not an issue with my neck but yet again my Thoracic Spine. It's either another herniation in the same level or Scar Tissue pressing on the nerves encroaching towards the spinal cord. They aren't sure by looking at this MRI which it is because they didn't do contrast. The Doctor's are leaning more towards it being scar tissue which would make sense for all these symptoms but so would a herniation..UGH! He said my nervous system is completely out of control and that is the reason for lots of these symptoms plus the RSD. "Autonomic Dysreflexia" is what it's looking like. The Dr said he is admitting directly into the hospital and lots will be happening. I need to be monitored plus lots of tests and MRI I'm sure. Looks like another spine surgery in my near future and a LONG hospital stay. I am not looking forward to it but what choice do I have? I'm so sick of this...and on top of it all...I caught a cold thanks to my son who decided to share. It's not helping me any. I really can't seem to win..not at all!

I will try and stay in touch when I can while in the hospital to keep you updated on how I'm doing. I think I'm in for a rocky road..and not the ice cream either :(

take care all of you...hope to be in touch soon

Wow, I will be praying for you. I have several issues and I have had 2 surgeries for spine repair. I have a total of 11 herniated disk. I had the neck repaired in '08 and T7-8 repaired in '09. This repair did not go well and am planning on having it repaired again at Cleveland Clinic. I also have a T11-12 that bothers me and some L's. I have very little strength. I also have several spots on the brain that they are still diagnosis.

Hope they can find out more for you. Keep us posted.

Hi,

I do hope that they can find out what is causing your problems and take care of it.

I am in PT now for neck and thoracic spine problems. I know what you are going through. I have had thoracic injuries for 11 years but was doing good until my car accident in Dec. I had just gotten out of PT last year and my PTist had my thoracic spine doing good. I am trying to avoid any surgery at this point. He said he'd know after we get done what my injuries are. The man is better then a Dr. at diagnosing.

Scar tissue is one of the problems I am having in several parts of my body. He's working on that too, to get it loose. Drs. around here don't want to do surgery on scar tissue. I know first hand on that from seeing them. If it needs to be taken care of then they should in my book. I do know it can come back but it is still a medical problem in the long run.

I'm glad they are going to admit you and do the test you need to find the answers. I hope this helps them to get things doing better for you.

Ada
