Rep. Langevin invites Michael J. Fox to State of the Union
Jan 16, 2007 12:47 PM EST WARWICK, R.I. (AP) -- Representative Jim Langevin has invited actor Michael J. Fox to be his guest at President Bush's State of the Union address next week. Langevin says Fox's appearance will underscore his commitment to stem cell research. Langevin has been in a wheelchair since he was accidentally shot at age 16. Fox suffers from Parkinson's disease. Both are strong advocates of embryonic stem cell research. The congressman invited Dana Reeve, widow of the actor Christopher Reeve, to the State of the Union address in 2005. She died of lung cancer last year The president's speech to the nation is scheduled for next Tuesday night. |
