Introduction
Hello,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been disabled with CFIDS and Fibro since 2001. Like many of suffers, I get discouraged with the chronic nature of the illness, the pain and depression are the worst for me. I've become a different person with the illness and struggle to retain the parts of me that I adore and miss. Each day I'm grateful for what I do have though, a loving family, son & daughter, their spouses and twin 5 yr old granddaughters and a loving and supportive husband. He makes me fell loved every day and makes me laugh. I'm lucky to have him in my life. I've decided to get back into working with clay which I used to love. Silly, but it's a major decision for me. My self esteem has been 'damaged' and I don't have the confidence I used to. I'm not a SSDI guru but I have analyzed and researched how-to complete the application and consider myself an expert on that narrow a topic. . I get great joy by helping other people through the process and answering questions when I know the answer. I look forward to getting to know you and hearing the latest about CFIDS. If you do have questions about the SSDI application, please don't hesitate to post. I promise I'll answer your question to the best of my ability. If I don't know the answer I will get it for you. |
Hi Trudi,
welcome to Neuro Talk, there are lots of caring people here. I'm glad you have a loving and supportive family, this is such a good thing to have when we have such terrible diseases to cope with. Look forward to seeing you around the forum take care Kate |
Welcome to NT
It's a great place to spend some time. Any help will be appreciated by applicants. That's a goodwill project you have there. I know your book will sell. My tip for SSDI applicants is to contract their US Congressperson. I have seen Hal Rogers work very hard to help applicants. He's a great congressman. I look forward to seeing you around the board. |
Thank you

Hello Trudy, when I read your introduction, I thought deeply of my issues with self esteem. I am an artist as well, oil painting...landscape. When you said your self esteem has been 'damaged', I finally realized why I am having problems getting back into the painting. My prior husband damaged my self esteem. Long story…
My sweetheart, who is known as Olhipie here on NeuroTalk, is gently trying to encourage me to get back into it. He has bought me all the stuff needed to paint again…but I push it away even though I long for it. I am so excited you are here on NeuroTalk and wanted to say welcome and hope to get to know you better. You take care, and have the best day!! |
filing for SSDI
I have just been diagnosed with Fibro..I've heard it is difficult to win SSDI for Fibro..do you recommend having representation even for the initial filing..?
