GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR..umpy!
I was so looking forward to going to get the puppy today! I really really was....
I forgot to take my Ambien last night until 11, so I decided to skip it. Then, I couldn't sleep so I got up for some Xbox... finally fell asleep around 2.... And I woke up to the bathroom light shining in my face, the door wide open, light on... and no man in sight. I decided to search the house in hopes of finding DH2B so that I may strangle him for the unnecessary wake up call at 6 a.m.! I found him... in the garage... on the phone... arguing with the Army. You see, he is getting out soon but they won't give him an official date yet so that he can take the 40 days leave he is owed. He told them last week he was taking today off because I was scheduled for my Ty infusion and he insists on going to these with me. Which works out great for me, I don't really need him for the infusion; but afterwards I am drained and it is nice to have someone to help with DD on those days. Not only does he need to go to work today, he gets to pull a 24 hour shift... Followed by his dental appointment tomorrow afternoon on base, which means he will not be allowed to come home until sometime tomorrow evening. And I am not taking my little car some 50 miles each way with DD in the snow.... so it looks like we can't get the puppy today, or probably tomorrow either.... I will be so glad when he gets out of the Army! |
 sorry you have to do the TY alone and no puppy yet! There is a bright side! He'll get paid for that 40 days he doesn't get to use! It's taking them a good 2 months to pay it after the discharge date, but it's a nice surprise when it arrives!! That is of course, unless he already has a new job lined up and was ready to start it soon and use the leave up.
:grouphug: to you both... |
 no advice, just hugs

Oh yeah well, he can take the days and get pain in full or... he can cash in those days when he gets out but, the Army only pays you half pay for those days. So, he could take 40 days of vacation and be paid for them or he can not take them and get paid for 20.
It would have been nice had they told him last night he had to come in for this instead of calling at 6 am and expecting him to be there at 9... it takes 2 hours to GET there with snow and traffic. This wouldn't be so annoying if they didn't do this kin of thing ALL of the time. So he will be home some time around 3 tomorrow afternoon after working over 24 hours with no sleep plus a dentis appt... and then he has to get back up at 3 am wed morning... up at 3, out by 4, work til 5ish, traffic til 7:00, eat dinner, back to bed by 8 or 9, and do it all over again... Which makes him a VERY GRUMPY man lately. I cannot blame the guy! And since I only see him 2 hours a day and on weekends.... Him getting out is going to be a big adjustment for all of us. |
Awwwwwwww, cheer up, it could be worse.:D
I hope DH2B and DD are home soon.. |
Sorry you didn't sleep well plus you can't get the puppy. :(
