Why is my blood so dark?
I disturbed a scab yesterday and was surprised to see how dark my blood is!
What's with that? |
You must be related to Royalty..:D
Or eating a lot of liver....too much iron, maybe?? |
Royalty, lol! :Rich:
Liver isn't on my menu, so that's not it. *shrug* |
Oxygen? Scab pick close to body, less air.

artery blood is rich and red, venous blood is dark. Artery blood has plently of rich O2 and yummy nutrients. Arteries carry blood around our body and feed it. As the artery passes by the materials are used, and the waste or leftovers are passed over to the veins to get rid of the waste products, and send it back to the heart, and lungs to get a fresh load of O2 and more nutrients.
A scab on the top of your skin is close to a vein area, and the veineous area is pulling the gunk and garbage away from the healing area and into the lymph system for cleaning and clearing. If it was a fresh cut, a slice into your meat, it would have been active veinous blood used to wash out the tissues, but since its an active healing area... make sense? I like the idea of royalty better. |
I thought royalty was blue blooded?;)
|
uh ... it's ancient blood from the Holy Land ... :D
|
As my dear mother used to say:
DON'T PICK! :p |
Quote:
But, those darn scabs DO scream PICK ME!!!!:picknose: |
